BACOLOD – LIFE OF AN HACIENDERO

Day One

BACOLOD – LIFE OF AN HACIENDERO

Depart at 9am for Bacolod, the City of Smiles. Arrive at the Bacolod Silay Airport at 10am where you will be met by our local representative. Drive to Hawaiian Philippines Sugar Mill to have a glimpse of the island’s sugar Industry.

This is also an opportunity to take pictures of the old steam Locomotives and the muscovado mill. Your next stop is Silay City, also known as the Paris of the East during its glory days at the turn of the Century.

Here you will see Ancestral homes and remnants of its rich history. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Bacolod. Delight your palate with the taste of an honest to goodness Negrense Chicken Inasal.

Check in at your hotel after lunch, relax a bit then we set off for your afternoon tour of Bacolod at 3pm. Visit San Sebastian Cathedral, Negros Museum and the Capitol Lagoon. Dinner will be served in a local restaurant where you will enjoy lots of grilled specialties. (L,D)

NORTH OF BACOLOD

Day Two

Delight yourself with a good breakfast before we proceed north to the Victorias Milling Company. This is where the finest powdered white sugar is made. Visit the chapel of the angry Christ. Its mural at the altar shows Christ with a flaming heart and the use of vibrant colors makes it unique in its own art form. Spend some time for private devotions, take lots of photos and proceed farther north to the famous mansion at Hacienda Rosalia.

This mansion was built by the descendant of Yves Leopold Germain Gaston who introduced sugar farming in the Island of Negros. Explore its grounds and enjoy the beauty of the home of a sugar baron. Your hacienda style lunch will be served in the mansion. Board your motorcoach after lunch as we once again take you on a heritage tour of Silay. Visit the Bernardo Jalandoni Museum, Balay Negrense and the Hofilena home.

We then head farther south to the city of Talisay where we will stop at The Ruins. This mansion in the middle of the sugarcane field has awed a great number of visitors. It is a turn of the century European inspired architecture that makes you forget that you are in Negros Occidental. Its grounds, mansion and rich history will only lead you to conclude that sugar was indeed the only path to wealth in those days. Enjoy a wonderful dinner prepared by the chef. Rest of the evening is free for leisure. (B,LD)

BACOLOD – 3 DAYS 3 GAMES

We check out from the hotel after breakfast and continue your tour with a visit to the Piaya factory. See how the famous Piaya is made and of course buy all the pasalubongs that you need. Next stop is at the Negros Showroom. This is where Negros made products are showcased.

Lunch will be served in a popular restaurant that serves both Filipino and international food. We then drive to the airport to catch your mid afternoon flight. It has been great to have you here and we look forward to another fun-filled trip. Hurry and plan for another adventure with friends and relatives. We will always have something to make your holiday pleasant and fun. (B,L)
